On the first EP of their long and storied career Yonkers, NY occult death metal outfit Immolation present three cuts: two new tracks and one epic instrumental closing piece. The EP starts off with 'Den Of Thieves' which immediately sets the pace with its oppressively militant rhyhtm, discordant harmonies, distinctive grooves and tortured, wailing leads. 'The Condemned' is a much longer affair, clocking little over 5 minutes and has perhaps the band's most groovy drum work to date. It seems Steve Shalaty has found his place and actually reminds me of former Immolation - and criminally underrated drummer Alex Hernandez at times. Robert Vigna and Bill Taylor deliver a number of impressive riffs and leads on this EP, possibly the best out of their career. Frontman Ross Dolan is his usual self on bass and vocals. Closing this EP is 'The Struggle Of Hope and Horror' - an epic instrumental piece which reminds me of the band's crowning achievement "Unholy Cult" in a number of ways. Once again recorded at Millbrook Sound Studios by resident producer Paul Orofino this EP comes with a much heavier, detailed and generally clearer production in comparison to "Harnessing Ruin". Additionally, there's a bonus live DVD capturing a 10 track setlist of the band at BB King's Blues Club in New York. This is the sort of EP that certain bands should aspire to deliver.

...co do saksofonu to był to przypadek całkowity. Bo idąc coś zjeść do miasta napotkaliśmy kolesia który na ulicy grał na saksofonie. Zagadałem do niego żeby nagrał nam jakieś partie i zgodził się. Oczywiście nie miał pojęcia na co się porwał, do tego komunikacja nie była najlepsza, bo okazał się być obywatelem Ukrainy i język polski nie był dobry albo w ogóle go nie było...
