Extremely Rotten Productions are proud to present the 2026 reissue of the 2006 monolithic album from Finnish torture doom masters WORMPHLEGM.

WORMPHLEGM - Formed in 2000 as a two-man project from the visions of Dirtmaster (vocals / drums) along with the riffs from Conqueror Worm (guitar / vocals). Initially planned as something that would resemble the Abruptum demos and early Unholy, it did not take long for the material to evolve into something that was eventually released on the 2001 demo "In an Excruciating Way..." on tape limited to 100 copies.

In January 2002, Wormphlegm played as the opener for The Candles Burning Blue and Skepticism in Turku, with A Rot-Yearner as session bass player / vocalist. Soon after, Apostatic Excrementor, who had previously provided artworks for the band, joined as a permanent bass player.

The sporadic recordings for the first full-length album "Tomb of the Ancient King" began in 2003 and were completed somewhere in 2004 - but it took 2 years for the album to be released in 2006 by the Belgian underground label Painiac Records.

The band also performed at the very first edition of Ashes to Ashes - Doom to Dust festival in Belgium and the Netherlands in 2004, a traveling extreme doom festival hosted in two different cities with the same line-up including bands such as Bunkur, Moss, Funeralium, Malasangre, Thee Plague of Gentlemen and Planet AIDS.

The year 2010 saw the re-release of the demo for the first time on vinyl, by the Finnish underground label Rusty Crowbar Records with revised artwork.

Now, in 2026 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album "Tomb of the Ancient King" - Wormphlegm are proud to re-release the album through Extremely Rotten Productions on both 2LP and CD for the first time, with a proper mastering done from the original tapes by Dan Lowndes in Sound Resonance Studios and comes with extended artwork, a few liner notes and lyrics presented for the first time.

The CD release comes as a jewel case release with 8 page booklet.
The LP release comes on double LP and are housed in heavy gatefold LP jacket and includes insert - available on regular black vinyl or limited editions Eroded Gold swirl vinyl or Nocturnal Tomb marble vinyl.
