Agathodaimon sie deaktywowal

The important news as such to start with- we'll split the band.

And it's damn hard to put this into words. Agathodaimon has been my steady companion during the past years, since its foundation in 1995.

Looking back, many things changed since then, others stayed the same- we always kept our core principles and our band philosophy in focus. And one of its main aspects was to always strive to deliver the best result possible. But this means that dedication and a good amount of time is needed, and that's what I currently can't deliver.

Having a family (2 kids) meanwhile, I can either choose between them or the music. Or go for a half-hearted compromise.
This may sound trivial at first, and I did my best to check all available options and possibilities. But in the end it became obvious that I can't continue with the band on a level that it deserves, that can still aim to "deliver the best result possible".
So, after thinking about it for quite a while and discussing this with the other boys, we agreed it's best to lay the band to rest. (It should be noted that also some other members partially face similar obstacles that would prevent bigger activities at least for next year)

It is a hard decision for me, but it would be foolish to pretend I could give both band and family proper attention the way things are currently. And working on the next album half-heartedly... that's not an option and in the end, it would not be fair to the fans or our philosophy.

Yet, this might not mean the band is gone forever. Things and circumstances change... It's not sure the band might continue at a later date, but yes, we wish for it, so there's a chance we'll come together again, some day. And continue where we left off, with new strength and energy.
(I also doubt I am able to stay away from making music anyway...)
Speaking of it, some of us will start/announce new projects sooner or later, we'll keep you updated about it.

The League Is Dead - All Hail The League!

After 17 years, a million beers, our fair share of records & gigs I have decided to call it quits with my brainchild & life’s work in music, The Black League. This decision I’ve dutifully considered for the past five years, so it doesn’t come lightly.. Since our last album, 2009’s ”Ghost Brothel”, I feel that I haven’t been able to write any music or lyrics to my own satisfaction, so I think it’s appropriate to cite ”lack of personal inspiration” as the primary reason for the split.

Or rather, the League did not split up; it just stopped being operative. No drama or bullshit was in any way involved in this decision. The rest of the guys in the current line-up have expressed their willingness to continue on the same path under a different monicker (and singer, I presume), which I find both logical and encouraging.

I would like to thank all those who have shared this sometimes manic and often dipsomaniac trail of (self-)indulgence with me, and dedicated/sacrificed their talent, time, expertise, friendship, facilities and means to the common cause. I have only love & respect for: Maike, Rale, Ilkka, Heavy, Leiden, Florida, Sir Luttinen and Aleksi, without whom…

Rather than end the band with a bang by performing celebratory gigs (as seems to be all the rage these days) I would rather see us all get together in a few years’ time to commemorate the anniversary of its demise! As for now, it’s ”Good Riddance, Motherfuckers”!

Ostatnia płyta jaką kojarzę to How to measure a planet, bo jej fragmenty zapodawali jeszcze w radiu Flesh w programie Metal Hammer Show o ile mnie pamięć nie myli. Nawet nie wiedziałem że grają nadal, a tu wieść o tym że zawiesili działalność.

Robią sobie tymczasową przerwę po odjeściu basistki. Za to w listopadzie grają w Holandii specjalny koncert z okazji 25 rocznicy istnienia ze wszystkimi aktualnymi i byłymi muzykami na scenie . Do tego wydają jeszcze "The best of'. W każdym razie, chyba jeszcze o nich usłyszymy.

Nadal uważam, że Disclosure z 2012 to wspaniała płyta. Próbowałem jeszcze ostatniego albumu - Afterwords - słuchać, ale za bardzo mi nie podchodziło. Szkoda tak czy siak, ale nadal mam sporo do nadrobienia w temacie Holendrów i znając życie zanim na dobre zapoznam się z ich dyskografią, to czymś nas zaskoczą. :)

Szkoda tak czy siak, ale nadal mam sporo do nadrobienia w temacie Holendrów i znając życie zanim na dobre zapoznam się z ich dyskografią, to czymś nas zaskoczą. :)

Disclosure - bardzo dobry krążek. Afterwords to raczej suplement do tej płyty, nic specjalnego, ale posłuchać można.
W sumie najbardziej z ich dyskografii lubię Souvenirs, a duet Anneke z Garmem - piękna sprawa.
