Krabathor is back with a new killer album! Yeah, there is no doubt that "Dissuade Truth" is one of the best death metal albums of this year. If you do not believe that Chris, Paul and Skull are back with album which has been recorded in the great old vein, you should listen to "Dissuade Truth" and then you will know what it means. I decided to ask Chris about everything which was important and necessary. 
Hi Christopher! First of all I would like to congratulate you on the new album - "Dissuade Truth". It has been available for a few months now and everyone I know who has listened to it, likes it and says that you are back to your roots...
"You are right. We have done this cd more into the old style of Krabathor. We have done more aggressive and faster cd than previous. I like all our cd´s because we have spent time on it but we would like to do each cd little bit different."
There was a three-year silence between this album and the previous one. What has been Krabathor doing for all this time?
"We have played a lot of shows, we have done promotion for previous cd and of course we have been working on the new songs. We have spent some time in USA too. We have been busy with other stuff too."
I personally think that "Dissuade Truth" is quite different from "Unfortunately Dead". Just like me, most of Krabathor fans were dissapointed with your previous release. Did you feel that it was not accepted by your fans? Has this situation made you come back with a killer death metal album?
"The music on "Unfortunately Dead" was different from other stuff but we liked it. We have done the best job in the time we have created it and recorded it. I have to agree that new cd is more aggressive and brutal because we have decided to do something angry. I don't know about the fans, some people liked, it someone not. It's normal."
I find it difficult to co
mpare these two albums. I could say that with "Dissuade Truth" you came back to your roots. The music is like in the past but with new, fresher ideas. Do you think that I am at least a little bit right?
"Probably a lot of people told me the same thing as you. It may be right way for the future cd. We will see what will be because we got time and we don´t know what future will bring."
"Dissuade Truth" is a brutal, agressive, technical, fast and melodic piece of death metal. There is everything that such kind of music should contain. There are some people who still do not believe that Krabathor plays like in old good days though. How can you recommend it to them?
"We just have had feeling to do cd like that, nothing more. We have done it when we have created it and when we have recorded it. It was just ideas and power inside of us."
The cover artwork of "Dissuade Truth" is simple and definitely in the old climate - just a skull with bones all around. What is the subject of this album? Is there any connection between lyrical part and the graphical design?
"The lyrics are about life and life and death are together. I think cover is good. It's from our label. They created it and they did good job."
When Paul Speckman joined the band few years ago your music and sound changed a little bit. Why did that happen? Who creates Krabathor music now?
"In the past we have been working on the Krabathor stuff together but on the last cd I have decided to do music just our selves because I would like to change it from his style of music taken from Master. Not to do mix of two bands. In the future it will be the same. It's better. On the "Unfortunately Dead" he was singing too. On the new cd I'm singing just by myself."
Are there any plans to film a videoclip? You had a few videos so far, like "Liquid", "Pacifistic Death", "Unnecessarity" and "Apocrypha". Which track would you choose?
"We haven't idea for the video clip because I don't think that label will have interest to do the video clip. First thing it might be too expensive and the second thing is that not enough massmedias are into the death metal music."
That's right, unfortunately... How did it happen that you left Morbid Records and signed to System Shock a few years ago? I heard some rumours that you left Morbid Records because Hypnos, your ex-bassplayer's band is in this label.
"We have got better offer from System Shock, it was important for us. They are good label but System Shock is better for us now. They are doing enough work for us and this is important."
Are you in touch with Bruno, do you meet from time to time with him? Did you listen to "The Revenge Ride"? Do you like Hypnos music?
"I'm not in the touch with them. I have heard their records and I have seen them live too. They are playing good stuff I like it."
You have a strong grind scene in Czech Republic. Do you like this kind of music? I could not find any interview in which you would express your opinion about grind music from your country...
"I'm not too much in this kind of the music but I have heard some of them and it was cool. In the past I have been listening more this kind of the music."
You played with Cannibal Corpse, Impaled Nazarene, Sinister and many other killer bands. Which of all your tours was the most successful for Krabathor?
"I've liked them all. Each tour was for us more experiences and we had learn a lot of important things. Biggest band we have been touring with was Cannibal Corpse. They are relly great professional band. Of course other bands you wrote about I like to and it was our pleasure to play with them."
You founded Krabathor in 1984 but the first demos were recorded four years after your 'birth'. It seems that you will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Krabathor next year! Are there any plans, surprises or anything for this occassion?
"I don't know, a lot of people have told me about it and asking me if we will do something for it. I still don't know what we will do what it will be. Some celebration? I don't know. Maybe some special cd for it."
I was wondering why did you name your band Krabathor? Whose idea was it and... what does it mean if it does anything?
"We have done it in the past. It's just a game of the words. In the past we have seen movie and there was mediciman's helper called Krabat. We have took it from movie and we have done first name KRABATOR and later on we have changed it for KRABATHOR with 'H' inside."
It might be still to early to talk about the new album but... Do you have any ieda what the next cd will be like? Did you think about it?
"Of course I'm thinking about it but I don't have any material for it. I know how it will looks but it's still too soon for it. You and our fans have to wait for new cd little bit."

"Thanx for interview too. Thanx for your suport and support our fans.Till the November we have booked some shows here in Czech Republic. In the autumn and winter we usually aren´t playing too much."
