Yeah, I know that Obscenity released their latest album some time ago, but who gives a damn if the talk is fresh as virgin's yet unexplored territories! To remind you folks, their latest record is entitled "Cold Blooded Murder" and as always showcases an excellent mixture or American-style brutal death metal, spiced with ear-piercing solos and a decent portion of dissident melodies. I caught up with Henne who told me what's new at their bloody camp. 
Are you aware "Cold Blooded Murder" is one of the best death metal album of the year? Man, I'm really impressed by its proficiency!
Henne : "Hi everybody and thanks for the compliment. CBM is the best! (laughs) No, it is a great album and got international standards . OBSCENITY did not have to hide behind American Death Metal bands."
Tell me what was the aim before entering the studio in order to record this find art of death metal work? Did you really want to commit an aural homicide upon us?
"Yes and it works, ha, ha, ha. The aim was to create another good album that everybody expects. This time we have a new drummer (Marc Andree) and we wanted to become a little bit faster and more brutal. Another idea was to experiment with new sounds, but here is not the end of this level. For the next album we want to bring a more brutal guitar sound and the guitars have to sound a bit more louder!"
The music you play is rather a continuum of all your previous materials than anything else. But I guess you just want to play technical yet extreme death and that's all about. No extravaganza is needed. Am I right?
"Yes , you are. It is a logical continuum of our work. In fact it's a bit faster and the sound is better than the other ones. But we don't have to play technical . Everybody tries that. But all they do is to do the same as they learned in their guitar or drum lessons, ha, ha, ha! This is not music , this are exercises and patterns, but the time will come and all these guys will recognize what a real song is! Verse-Refrain-Solo- Refrain-Bridge-Verse... ha, ha, ha! You must have a catchy melody or hook lines, otherwise none recognizes your song again!"
What are you planes as far as forthcoming tour-schedule goes?
"We have a lot of tour offerings, gigs and open airs for the future but everyone of us has got 30 days freetime/ holidays so we have to look what is best. So in the rest of 2002 we only have to play 2 gigs in Germany and the Netherlands , that's all for now. So if you have an offer for Poland , please let me know!"
Is there any chance for a live album of yours? I think it wouldn't be a stupid thing to do as you're quite recognizable band everywhere.
"I don't know, we had this idea a few years ago. But I think it is not the right thing for a death metal band. It would sounds bad, so you need a very, very good stage sound, and that is impossible for sure! The other side is that our record company would not be very surprised, you know."
"Cold Blooded Murder" was mastered at Morrissound. Whose idea it was actually? As I recollect your labelmates of HYPNOS did the same with "The Revenge Ride".
"Yes it was Morbid Rec. idea . It was another selling point, but actually it sounds the same as a German Mastering studio, I think."
What the track entitled "Alien Hand Syndrome" deals with? Quite attention-grabbing one.
"It is about a guy who woke up one night and his own hand want's to kill himself by suffocate or stuff like that. So it is a real illness, mostly seen in Poland, and people who are lying and take drugs or could not play cool Death Metal, will get it. Ha, ha, ha!"
Funny you are. But please don't fuck with us like that. Ha! Who's actually responsible for the music in OBSCENITY? And does this change as far as particular albums are concerned?
"No, it will be so for the future. Everybody has got his job in the band. The musicians will do the riffing, and Olli is writing the vocal-parts. But the arrangements will be done together."
Will there be a possibility for you to visit Poland at last? Our crowds are craving for such sonic onslaught!!!
"Yeah, of course we have been in Poland this year for an open-air festival, but as we were there after a long ride the gig has been cancelled because of a big storm! So we were very disappointed."
And not only you my darling. Can you agree if I state your music is sort of American death metal yet with European charisma?
"That is right . It is our aim to play tight Florida-style Death Metal with harmonic influences and solos. It never changes. But every time it will be more brutal and faster ,so never wimp out!"
