HUMANITY SUCKS
"I am the lone revengeful wolf amongst billions of sheep" - claims Robert Garchitorena - the founder and indisputable individuality of Spanish machinery called FERMENTO. Certainly I would never dare to mess with him, but by force of habit I just had to ask him on some not infantile questions many so-called journalists did. No more introduction, face the truth and absorb the supremacy that's gashing out from "Three Murders"! Whose idea was to release "Three Murders"? And what's the reason for publishing the materials in this form again?
Robert: "The idea was from Brian (Ablated), and the reason was because FERMENTO always had limited editions of every recording, for this, many people don't have original FERMENTO stuff or never could have listened to them."
Throughout the years the lineup has been changing smoothly. Now FERMENTO is a trio again. Is the recent lineup most suitable for you? No lack of sound can be heard anyway.
"No, just because here was difficult to find great serious bastards, indeed I don't care about it, if we're touring I will enter in the group new members, maybe one more guitar and new bass player."
I know one of your bands personally. Are you in touch with guys of Haemorrhage?
"One of my bands? (Yeah, your, I mean Spanish ones, not yours personally - B. D.) I only got FERMENTO, and Haemorrhage is not my fave style, not really, indeed not! I know Luisma from many years ago, he is a cool guy."
After "Only the Flesh" demo, there was a two song material entitled "Into the Organs". Why that stuff did not find its place on "Three Murder"?
"Well, to me that stuff was too old to be release now."
Ablated is already prepared to release your second full-length. But I'd like to inquire how did you get the deal and signed on to them? Guys of Reinfection are friends of mine, and I know Ablated is really good label for such a band as yours.
"Yes, we are signed by Ablated. I hope your words have been true."
After reading your lyrics I came to terms that harsh reality is what FREMENTO is all about. Do you believe in spiritual life, post-mortal life, whatsoever?
"Not really. I believe in the power of blood. The spiritual things is in your blood (genes? Visions?) you got all the information in your blood. All that were your ancestors now it is in your blood, I made myself or life made my attitude? Well, instincts never lie, why I fell I am different? Why I must do things? Why that rage? Why that hungering? Nobody gives me answers, I must find them in my inner world, I am an exigent non stop person, I think people are just defeated and submitted, nobody fights for the big concept, only (like animals) for their brood, poor humans... born to see past the time or born to feel like a god? In "Symbol" lyrics I am a revengeful spirit that purify this world just for vengeance of humans made with the system and with my ancestors."
I saw your photos and I guess you must spend a lot of time at gym pumping your muscles. Am I right? I suppose you're not a doormat for the others shoes anyway :).
"I am a pureballs to the wall trainer, yes it's really pure violence, pure adrenaline pure pain and you enjoy the pain or be a birdchest. Bodybuilding is a perfect fit for a brutal music fan... makes your mind and body stronger, far stronger than a "normal" person, I feel the power and the blood pumping in every tissue. People fear me in the gym. Sometimes I make me blood with the so heavy weights! Read this man, 165 kg on superior bench press, 115 on military shoulder press and barbell rows, 75 kg on barbell curl biceps and this totally no doping shit only "natural balls"."
Your music is awesomely violent and destructive, there's no fucking argument about it! But, is this a lifestyle of yours as well. You know, some people sing of something threatening, and act differently in everyday life. How about you?
"How about me?... some people can remember every extreme thing I made in my live. Some people from the scene from many, many years ago in Madrid, yes, I lived so many violent situations (guns, pyromaniacs, crazydrivers, destroying cars & underground tube, fighting against military recruits, 
drunken shit, heavy wimps, false death posers, techno vulgar shit) Well, so many violent situations and many experiences, that it now I'm so burned, feed up and now I live in a small city of 100.000 persons (I come from Madrid, 5 millions) I prefer to stay avoid masses, less people, less problems..., yeah I made one of my misanthropic desires.... Scape!"!!! I reborn Fermento here in Ourense (cold mountain foggy place)."
Man, you have a very strict inner ideology. Isn't it tough to live with all the notions you declare? Are there many people who like you? Yeah, I guess you don't give a shit of it at all...
"Yes and no, yes it is difficult because I can't be false and that's a problem in this society. And no, because it's my own nature. Sometimes I surprised myself how toughened I am. I don't question myself if it's hard to feel me alone between so many walking mindless surrender flesh, well to be honest; yes, I am fucked up, I don't find anyone. I got a very few closed friends and every of then except my female are long far from here , the good thing is that life gives you experience day after day to know something about this theatre called life."
Your voice is incredibly low, man, you rip the ground! Therefore I'm a bit curious how do you feel about all the present-day death metal vocalists using all the effects to be lower artificially?
"Thanks, well I worked many years in my voice and I think I was one of the first who sang in the extreme brutal gutted way. I never used harmonizers, because it's visceral do it by myself, I feel it. About the others.... I won't judge them about it because I like some artificial voice groups."
You frequently underline your supremacy above the blindfolded masses. I'm a spoke of society's wheel, 8 to 4 job, wife, bills to pay, etc. Don't be angry with me, but am I inferior to you?
"I don't know if you are inferior to me but probably. Ha, ha! You asked... then... probably you disappoint, probably you don't keep one's world, probably you are insecure and for it you will betray someday somebody, probably you don't offer any interesting how I demand, probably you don't trust easily and you won't put your hand in the fire, probably you won't fight for your believes of just you don't have believes, probably you are not hunger of intensity, probably you don't see from your inner blood and therefore don't feel higher, well man, I can continue thousand "probablys" I won't judge u 
because, I don't know you, but my experience talks, otherwise your questions are interesting, ha, ha!! Intensity, emotions been true. Been supreme, every real man should be a king, or at least live his life like a king! This times suck, money reigns, my concept & attitude is a great quality inner life! Is it so hard understand me? Is it so easy call me racist or demented because somebody feels I got something he won't got never. I work and got bills to pay too but that's no excuse for not to think."
Isn't the weakness of a society something that actually makes you stronger, in a way?
"Right, otherwise the instinct I got is dark and with intense hunger but yes, this society sucks, people sucks, it´s a continue fight against their mistakes (envy, egoism, lack of honesty, inner spiritualism and mysticism and of course lack of class, class is to have a special non vulgar, ignorant and shitty "aura") I'm feed up of all of them, it´s really difficult to find (for not to say impossible) an interesting person, a person that bright like an "elite" why I must have relations with "non quality" humans? Every fucking day! If nobody deserves my attention something smells shit in this society."
Don't you think the most dangerous enemy for people is not religion, cults or church, but just desire to consume more and more, the desire propelled by the biggest means of contemporary society - just money?
"The problem is that people mind is selling very cheap, most of them are very fucked to think about anything besides their day routine of what happened in TV and the others are the poor ignorant, there is not opportunity to be free, most of you are buttress in the system, here nobody will be something except wins the lotto or have the chance to be in a reality stupid day to day TV show... all of this is absurd!!! Maybe in the Celt ages people could be somebody by their selves and fight for it. I can't see integrity or honour in others, I can't feel anything more than a boring feed up feeling."
Could you tall me a bit more as far as the forthcoming album is concerned? When to expect it, any titles?
"FERMENTO new stuff is really surprising, why? Because our last CD is from more than 3 years ago! Then you can imagine we change into a more complex and totally brutal, dark and supreme feeling in our music, I can't do the same stuff every recording just because I need more intensity, more feeling, if someday I don't feel the music I will leave the scene, I need to boil my ravenous blood, I would say that this new CD is something that is named by two words: Totally true (like ever, ha, ha), I hope late spring the stuff will be ready to record, I won't give you titles until the whole CD concept is finished."
I'm anxious to get some pieces of information concerning your onstage performance. I guess you run amok out there. And I guess you don't need any bitches or fire-breathing to kill musically as well.
"Our "live" is like a rage, supreme, proud parade, it´s with a special climax, I am like a mad dog on stage, no fucking theatre... a real hellbastard... Armed and dangerous."
Will you hit the US road in the future? I mean, will Ablated do something about it, you know, to help a bit.
"I think so, otherwise we are focusing on composing the next CD, about u.s.a., well I hate commercial airplanes, only travel in bomber plane... that's a problem, ha, ha."
Do you respect any of the death or grind bands. You seem to be a solitary wolf amongst the sheep...
"I respect Mortician, Immolation, Incantation, Deranged and Enslaved for their perseverance, for be "true" and for not fall in commercial ways. Type o Negative because they are wimps but original composers. Machetazo because Dopi is a real hellbastard like me! Forensick because Oscar is a cool guy. And man... not many more... most of the others will wimp, will fall and their Death Metal years will be like an illusion, a farse.... You know it´s the perfect thing for the teenager rebel... to be a malevolent death or blacker for that fucking 3 or 5 years, this is the truth.... This music is listened for the fucked arrogant teens and for a small "elite" that I hope exist somewhere... small. I am still the lone revengeful wolf between billions of sheep."
