Interesting thing - Lost Disciple is sending out promo CDs of a band Dusk that no longer exists ! Well, they have recently released their latest CD so they understandably want to publicise and sell it. To be more specific, CD is a reedition of Dusk's earlier recordings. "Mourning resurrect" comprises of the following: "The Dusk"(1994), "Majestic Thou in Ruin"(1995), and a song "Yearning for Eternity" which appeared in The Lost Disciple compilation entitled "Visionaries of the Macabre Vol.I" (1998). Enough about formalities, let's get down to music because this is strongly intriguing!I have never thought that I would write something like that about doom metal ( doom/death to be precise). Do not associate it with modern, sweet and melodious cat music, Satan forbid! Dusk is gloom, psychodelia, the atmosphere of a funeral. Dusk is the music that I am apprehensive to trust at night. It is slowly and lazily coming out of the loudspeakers, fills out the room, comes near and overcomes me with its sadness.I am not sure if this comparison is accurate, because I am not familiar with this type of funeral marches, but it seems to me that Dusk penetrates similar areas of musical madness as our native Nightly Gale. It's just that the Americans are less approachable for a common listener. A similiarty between those two bands lies in the fact that when listening to their albums I have a feeling as if the world had long died and it's only me that has been left, I am looking at the world's ruins, forsaken, lonely and abandoned, having no idea why I have been spared. Not that I could endlesssly listen to prosuicidal tunes but once in every while it could not do me harm. At the end of the day slashing yourself with a razor, a knife or any other tool can also bring you satisfaction and fulfillment....ha!, ha!...
