A Scandinavian band that names itself after the best record of a fucken has-been Lusitian dark metal band? Exactly how clueless is the one member of this band? I dunno, but besides the dumb name this is actually pretty tolerable and atmospheric dark metal. Not that that should fucken surprise anyone, cos this guy used to play in various variations of this same sound. Yeah, Wolfheart is from fucken Finland, the land of Armi Päivinen, no less, and they aren’t fucken fruity. For some reason (lack of time, common sense, the availability of bigger tits in the audience - who the fuck knows?) the guy decided to quit all his other projects to purely focus on his own band. Boo fucken hoo, I have been saying this for more years than I care to fucken remember, that metal musicians, professional or otherwise, should focus on their main band. Fucken do something with it, instead of dabbling in a dozen of hobby projects leading to a continual stream of incredibly fucken mediocre and outright terrible albums. Just saying. So yeah, fucken Wolfheart then. I get a lot of mid-era Amorphis vibes from this, or Shape Of Despair without, you know, the heavier-than-thou doom metal. The folk instrumentation fucken reminds of that Liv’s Tits album “Vinland Saga”. I dunno whether that’s a fucken compliment cos everybody knows that the metal in Liv’s Tits is kinda obsolete and fucken pointless, but there you fucken have it. This is actually pretty good stuff. Not exactly the best in the fucken business, or the most interestingly written but tolerable enough. Yeah, fucken amazing, I know. Finland occasionally does have a good band that isn’t completely and utterly fucken fruity. Shut up. Of course this record would have been better if Armi Päivinen was on it, clothing optional. Who the fuck knows? I suppose all the Wintersun fans (yes, both of you) will probably love this to fucken pieces. I don’t particularly care one way or the other. This is well written, well performed atmospheric dark metal. Hardly the stuff of fucken legend. Probably explains why it wasn’t released on Inverse Records. This is actually good, you know. Finnish metal that isn’t fruity. Odin knows that that is fucken hard to come by. Yeah, fuck you too, Demilich owns you all. I don’t care what you fucken faggots think. The Sixteenth Six-Tooth Son of Fourteen Four-Regional Dimensions (Still Unnamed) roars in approval. That doesn’t happen fucken often, so enjoy it while it lasts. I’m going to crack open another beer. Fuck off.
