A band that features members from both Jungle Rot and Decrepit Birth, and it doesn’t completely blow? How fucken quaint. No, I actually really fucken like this. Except for that pointless ‘Premonition’ intro, that was completely fucken goofy. So, Emblazoned. Here’s a band that understands that it is actually fucken worthwhile to turn up the bass guitar in the production, and there’s solo’ing. Good solo’ing. Not of that masturbatory, see-how-many-unnecessary-notes-I-can-play style one usually associates with Ralph ‘is your band hiring?’ Santolla, or Dave Suzuki. You know, wank solos. None of that fucken stuff here. I do prefer wank, preferably by Lexi Lapetina or Demi Scott… but I’m digressing. Thank Odin for the fact that Emblazoned knows what its fucken strengths are. None too many bands grasp that fucken simple concept. The riffing on ‘Refuge In Darkness’ goes for that black metal vibe, but does it actually, you know, good. We all fucken know it took those gringos a full decade to master the Scandinavian sound. So, yeah, supposedly this is a “super-group” or something. Not that that matters cos the only guy you probably heard of is Kevin Forsythe (who also plays in hardcore act Cause For Revelation). Never mind that kid A.J. Lewandowski on bass guitar, his only affiliation with Decrepit Birth is that he is a touring musician with them. So, useless non-factual gibberish in a metal press sheet? Does the pope shit in the woods? Another day, another frustrated reviewer. This is what that stupid band Infernaeon should have been. You know, minus those fruity keyboards and futile attempts to be all “evil and necro”. Since this is a teaser EP, there’s probably a full-length release planned sometime in the future, and I look forward to hearing it. Intelligent extreme metal, from the States, no less - it exists still. Who fucken knew? Now release that fucken full album before this band explodes in a lot of homo-erotic man-drama and a bunch of kids crying. I don’t say that a fucken lot, so brace yourself: buy this EP, go see this band play. Send them money, buy their merch, fuck their girlfriends. Whatever the fuck you decide to do, don’t waste your drugs money on supporting a stupid scene band. Invest your money in quality, and Emblazoned is fucken quality. Now begone, so I can listen this EP again undisturbed.
