Finland has a solid black metal underground that has been active since the genre’s inception. Anal Blasphemy is the latest of these hordes, although their attack isn’t quite as speed-based as some of their contemporaries. "Perversions Of Satan" is filled with primitive black/death metal in tradition of Archgoat, Beherit and Incriminated. The record starts off with a Spanish spoken intro invoking Satan. As the album title suggests the lyrics deal with perversions, sexual gratification and assorted subjects. ‘Lust For Satan (Sexual Worship)’ feature female vocals, shrieking and an assortment of moans by Anguished frontwoman Possessed Demoness that are supposed to be arousing, but come off sounding kind of silly. The appearance of Possessed Demoness is probably logical and somewhat expected, as she’s one of the more prominent signings of the label (and not the significant other of the label owner/bandleader, for a change). Anal Blasphemy is a rather typical Finnish band, in that both execution and packaging are up to the expected standard. Within the confines of their chosen genre the band tick all the right boxes. People who like acts such as Beherit, Satanic Warmaster and Horna will find a lot to like here as Anal Blasphemy peddles the same kind of primitive black metal of these ancient masters. On the whole, "Perversions Of Hate" delivers exactly what it says on the tin.
