    The Industrialist ()

Wydane przez Candlelight Records/AFM Records/Earsplit PRRok wydania Kraj USANapisał Wouter7Komentarze (0)Fear Factory - The IndustrialistAfter the unexpected comeback that was "Mechanize" California cyber/industrial metallers Fear Factory were once again reduced to its core duo. With "The Industrialist" the band have found their classic voice again. This new album sees Fear Factory operating at a surprisingly high level and while it doesn’t quite reach the lofty storytelling peak of "Obsolete" that record remains the closest point of comparison. The biggest bone of contention is the programmed drums. In all honesty, these sequences are virtually indistinguishable from the human drumming by Raymond Herrera on "Obsolete". Burton C. Bell is vocally a lot more varied and stronger here in comparison to the all-out brutality of "Mechanize"; in fact Bell’s clean singing once again features more prominently. Although age and the strain of heavy touring have taken their toll, his cleans are still leagues ahead of contemporaries Robb Flynn (Machine Head) and all those god-awful metalcore singers he inspired. Song like ‘New Messiah’, ‘Depraved Mind Murder’ and ‘Virus Of Faith’ can rightly match itself with the most lauded cuts from "Demanufacture" and "Obsolete". With a production job by Rhys Fulber and Greg Reely with additional tracking by Logan Mader from Dirty Icon Productions (Divine Heresy) "The Industrialist" is the most pristine Fear Factory product to date. The drum programming by John Sankey (Devolved) is remarkably natural, and it makes one wonder why Cazares didn’t hire him as a studio musician. The artwork by Anthony Clarkson is similar to that of the video game "Dead Space". Overall is "The Industrialist" the best thing Fear Factory has done in a long time. Well done, gentlemen.
