    Vanquish in Vengeance ()

Wydane przez Listenable Records/ClawhammerRok wydania Kraj USANapisał Wouter8Komentarze (0)Incantation - Vanquish in VengeanceThere are precious few bands that are as consistent as Pennsylvanian death metal combo Incantation. Like Bolt Thrower, Cannibal Corpse, Monstrosity and Vader these men have never strayed from their path of hateful doom-laden death metal. "Vanquish in Vengeance" heralds the return of these NY death metal legends and is the long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s "Primordial Domination". This album marks the recording debut of Goreaphobia members Alex Bouks (guitar) and Chuck Sherwood (bass) along with mainstays John McEntee (vocals, rhythm/lead guitars) and Kyle Severn (drums). Like any good wine Incantation only gets better with age. With the continued popularity of excessive blasting and technical wanking Incantation stands as a lone monolith against the popular consensus. As if 1990 never passed Incantation here present murky, dark sounding doom-laden death metal in its purest form. Rugged riffing, rolling thundering drums and pounding bass lines are the basis of this band’s attack for over two decades now. In a curious turn of events "Vanquish In Vengeance" is a conceptual album and the band’s most clearly produced to date. Just like their peers in Monstrosity this is a band that is as uncompromising as they are sincere and loyal to the sound they helped shape. With the death metal genre being as stagnant as it was over a decade ago, it is good to have the masters show the youngsters how this genre is supposed to done. Well done.
