    Önd - A Tribute to Enslaved ()

Wydane przez Pictonian RecordsRok wydania Kraj Napisał Wouter8Komentarze (0)Various Artists - Önd - A Tribute to Enslaved Tribute albums aren’t exactly a new business practice, neither is it curious to have albums coming out celebrating an artist or group that is still around and very much alive. Tributes to Darkthrone, Eyehategod, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Mayhem and Mortician instantly come to mind. Considering Enslaved’s lengthy tenure in the Viking/black metal scene (and their recent more progressive ouput), it was only matter of time before the first tribute would arrive. French black metal specialist label Pictonian Records now does so with "Önd". Gathering a swatch of established and lesser-known European genre acts they collectively celebrate the Norsemen catalogue from "Hordanes Land" up until 2008’s "Vertebrae". On disc one Island (Germany), Belenos (France), Wodensthrone (UK) and Angantyr (Denmark) appear to be the most well known. Disc two features the likes of Dordeduh (Romania), Lux Divina (Spain), Vreid (Norway), Angmar (France) and Janvs (Italy). Made in close collaboration with Enslaved themselves this two-disc tribute comes with breathtaking artwork, extensive liner notes about each of the tracks and a host of interesting photo material from the band’s vaults. In a lot of ways "Önd" is a good place for people to start investigating the interesting and rewarding discography of one of Norway’s most prominent Viking/black metal icons. From their earliest and darkest material to the more recent, cerebral explorations through progressive and psychedelic wanderings, Enslaved never compromised - and that is what makes them the long-standing monument that they are today.
