As one of Australia's most popular black/thrash/war-metal exports Deströyer 666, who have ties to legendary cult acts Corpse Molestation and Bestial Warlust, are unstoppable in their unholy crusade of blasphemy. It is easy to see why they managed to stay relevant despite changing trends and a trans-European line-up, with members scattered over the UK, Holland and Germany. Where many of their peers fell victim to the entrapments of looming popularity and image changes to appease the masses, Deströyer 666 have remained loyal to their vision and sound – being traditional, sincere and entirely bereft of pretentiousness. Theirs is a sound that combines classic metal leads/solos with a backbone of early neckbreaking thrash worked through a traditional black metal framework. Where many contemporaries fail at such as blend of styles Deströyer 666 has been honing thir craft for over a decade. "To the Devil His Due" compiles the band's most memorable tracks of their last few EPs in a fist-pounding package that comes with mesmerizing handdrawn artwork. 'Satanic Speed Metal' and 'The Sirens Call' are culled off the 1998 "Satanic Speed Metal" 7" EP. These are followed by the two tracks of the "King Of Kings/Lord Of the Wild" EP from 2000. Included also are the three tracks of the 2002 "Of Wolves, Women and War" EP, as well as the three tracks from the "See You In Hell" EP (released in September 2010). More questionable omissions are the lack of tracks from the band's earlier days such as 1995's "Violence Is the Prince Of This World" and 2003's "Terror Abraxas" EP. The only downside is the wildly varying production values of this different EPs, the band itself is consistent through out. "To the Devil His Due" is a neat compilation, but one that is far from complete for the above mentioned reasons. Nevertheless, Deströyer 666 are one of the old ambassadors of the Australian scene and nobody's able to duplicate their sound.
