    Homicidal Rapture ()

Wydane przez Mutilation Records/Undermetal ProductionsRok wydania Kraj BrazilNapisał Wouter6Komentarze (0)Lacerated and Carbonized - Homicidal RaptureLacerated and Carbonized is another death metal act from Brazil. Inspired by the early works of Krisiun ("Conquerors Of Armageddon", specifically) musically and Aborted vocally this bunch from Rio de Janeiro make no mistake about their mission statement. Although not as strict in their rhythms, chord progressions and riffs as their more popular brethren Lacerated and Carbonized still carry on the age old tradition of Brazilian death metal in that its utterly savage and inhumanly brutal. Notably more groovy and American compared to their more traditional and pure peers Lacerated and Carbonized intend to combine the best of both continents, but succeed only partially. The bland vocal delivery is too focused on sounding like Aborted frontman Sven DeCaluwé and while the music is competent; it is also confused as it can't decide whether it is an ardent disciple of more straightforward institutions as (pre-"Works Of Carnage") Krisiun, Mental Horror, Ophiolatry and Rebaelliun or its more bouncy and modern American deathcore counterparts. "Homicidal Rapture", while satisfactory on most counts, is far from the second coming or an instant match to respectable institutes such as Rebaelliun, Mental Horror or The Ordher, who are far more accomplished either technically or conceptually. Lyrically, this band is confused as to what subjects and thematics they want to cater to, be it war ('Obliteration Of Mass Deceit'), gore/horror ('Cephalic Crusher', 'Homicidal Rapture', 'Chainsaw Deflesher') or more personal angst ('Mundane Curse', 'Darkened Spite'). The artwork is surprisingly similar to that of the 2004 "Intense Killings" album of Rhode Island death metal act Anoxia. Recorded at Da Tribo Studio (Krisiun) the production is fittingly heavy with enough clarity for each instrument. The drums sound muffled and impotent, hopefully the band will rectify this on their next aural offering.
