This melodic death metal band from Nicosia, Cyprus was formerly known as Antimony. This EP, which forms the prelude to a proposed full length, displays fairly typical Gothenburg death metal with the occasional section of progressive metal. Chief influences are (early) At the Gates, (later) Death and to a lesser degree Dissection. The biggest downfall for A Motive Inhumane is the thorough lack of energy these songs have. Compared to the earlier mentioned pioneering bands the tracks here feel disjointed and directionless at times. It is clear that all involved are capable enough musicians and the occasional inspiring moments take their songs a long way. On the whole "The Darkness Of Suns" is too insipid and too non-descript to make any remarkable impact in their native Cyprus or beyond. For that their songs aren't interesting enough and now are merely dry copies of their inspirations. There is nothing wrong with their music as such, but on a wider scale there's so many bands on the scene who do this thing more convincing and who are far more brutal and adventurous with their progressive elements. It would be beneficial for A Motive Inhumane to make their future material more brutal without excising the promising Gothenburg-progressive leanings of this EP.
