    From Glory to Infinity ()

Wydane przez Stygian Crypt Productions/Paragon Records/Abyss RecordsRok wydania Kraj ItalyNapisał Wouter8Komentarze (0)Faust - From Glory to InfinityTechnical death metal with traditional metal leanings featuring session work by bassist Steve DiGiorgio (Autopsy, Control Denied, Death, Iced Earth, Sadus) and drummer Dariusz "Daray" Brzozowski (Dimmu Borgir, Vesania, Vader, Masachist). Despite their multi-national line-up the Italian duo of Faust count later era Death and to a lesser degree "Focus" era Cynic chief among their influences with mid-90's Gothenburg death metal melodies (think early In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, etc). All songs are carefully structured with great attention to natural flow, jazzy breaks and progressive sections with extended lead/solo work all while remaining brutal yet melodic through out. DiGiorgio is his usual self providing exotic and funky bass lines that actively contribute to the compositions foundational background while occasionally moving to the forefront. The drumming of Daray is once again amazing. His work behind the kit is far more varied than his past work in Vader and is reminiscent of Sean Reinert's session work for Death's seminal "Human" album or George Kollias' work on Cerebrum's "Spectral Extravagance". The artwork by Marco Hassman is a bit different than what he usually conjures up but is strangely fitting for the record. Mixed and mastered at Trident Studio in Pacheco, California with producer/engineer Juan Urteaga (Vile) behind the knobs. Italy continues to amaze with its recent share in the death metal resurgence in Europe, hopefully some respectful bigger label will take note of Faust.
