Forming in Wroclaw, Poland in 1987 Magnus were one of the earliest extreme thrash metal bands from the Eastern Bloc. After a series of demos the band released its debut "I Was Watching My Death" in 1992 with two more records to follow up to 1994 before the inevitable breakup in 1997. Thirteen years later, like many before them, Magnus now return to dish out the metal. "Acceptance Of Death" is full of pitchblack razorsharp death/thrash metal like Sarcófago, the head-on intensity of the early Teutonic pioneers (Destruction, Kreator, Sodom), the ferocity of (early) Slayer and the heaviness of early Swedish deathsters Merciless. Magnus offer the listener no respite or time to catch a breath as "Acceptance Of Death" pummels, bashes and thrashes like there is no tomorrow. In all respects this album is meant to crush its listener in its sheer heaviness and brutality. The vocal delivery is akin to Testament growler Chuck Billy. Where many acts are copying this sound as a way to pay homage to the genre's early pioneers, Magnus is the real thing and by that token alone destroys the great majority of its contemporary (and much younger) peers by simply existing. Magnus need not to rely on gimmickry or feelings of nostalgia to get their message across, as they are one of the ambassadors of the scene to which they are now returning. Great artwork, design and lay-out by Mentalporn (Hell-Born, Lost Soul, Trauma). "Acceptance Of Death" comes in a lush 10 panel digi pack limited edition.
