After their formidable self-titled 2008 debut these Tampa, Florida natives now return in an even more convincing manner with "An Examination Of Being". With the groundwork laid out on their debut this second album takes all aspects of their sound further into their logical direction. The drumming of Steve Asheim (Deicide) is front and center on this record, together with the Ralph Santolla/Dave Suzuki-styled extended classical metal leads/solos by prodigious John Li, who is destined to become one of the greatest metal guitarists of our time. The solid rhythm guitar riffs and acoustic guitars of frontman/vocalist Kevin Quirion and the stirring bass lines of Scott Patrick (ex-Resurrection) further add to this already impressive arsenal. 'The Concept Of Our Extinction' is the roll-out single of this record and perfectly displays the collective strengths of this combo. Order Of Ennead blend classic Florida death metal with a distinct European sense of melody and intelligent, introspective lyrics that add greatly to the cerebral nature of this recording. Compared to the debut the melody is expanded upon while the dynamics are better and the brutality has been notched up remarkably. Recorded at Audiohammer Studios (Drawn and Quartered, Monstrosity, Trivium) in Sanford, Florida "An Examination Of Being" expands upon the solid sound of their 2008 recording while including additional heaviness and clarity to the whole. The esoteric abstract artwork by Patrick Pidoux fits well with the record. Order Of Ennead live up to the promise of their debut album – the future is theirs, if anything they will become leaders in their genre.
