With this split EP Cobra Records puts the limelight on one of its two priority bands. Sojatumala, Finnish for "Wargod", deliver a track in tradition of their previous recordings. Solid semi-American death metal in the tradition of "Covenant" era Morbid Angel with a Scandinavian sense of flair, energy and arrangements. This new cut fits in well with the band's past catalogue and ticks all the necessary boxes. There are two tracks for each band, one original cut and one Iron Maiden cover track. Sotajumala cover Iron Maiden's 'Prowler', which features guest vocals by original Iron Maiden frontman Paul Di'Anno. The band's delivery and execution of this early Iron Maiden classic is true to form and Di'Anno's vocals are a great treat for the fans of this UK heavy metal institution. The second band partaking in this split is Finnish death/thrash metal commando Deathchain. Their original cut is also in the tradition of what one has come to expect of them. Secondly Deathchain cover 'Purgatory' with guest vocals by Tarot's Tommi Salmela. Both bands are clearly recognizable as Finnish and with this split album Cobra Records once again proves to be the most forward thinking label in the business today.
