With an unimaginative bandname and uninspired artwork there's little working in the favor of this female-fronted death metal band from Germany. The vocals of Antonie Mrusek are in the tradition of Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy) and in its more bellowing moments of Rachel Heyzer (ex-Sinister, ex-Occult). The music mostly midpaced semi-melodic European death metal with light Swedish stylings. 'Deathinfection' – which opens with a sample from "Hellraiser II : Hellbound" - is the most brutal cut of the record. However what DAMN misses is the feeling of darkness, evil and hatefulness that use to characterize the death metal genre, melodic or otherwise. Mrusek has the chops to pull off something fitting with a more malevolent direction. 'First Class Suicide' is a neat instrumental, but too little to redeem the album. "Forbidden Anger" was recorded at AB Studio with Jakob Batten Hansen (Illdisposed) and Peter "Ziggy" Siegfredsen (Illdisposed, Behemoth, Mercenary). The artwork is rather poor but the design and lay-out of the booklet are more than commendable, especially the calligraphy. Overall, "Forbidden Anger" won't make any waves in a scene already oversaturated as it is.
