Prior to releasing their latest slab of socio-politically charged death metal with "Heirs to Thievery" Baltimore, Maryland combo Misery Index unleashed this upon the masses. A long overdue compilation of all the band's non-album material, including early EPs and splits, released on the band's own label imprint. Tracks here are taken from their splits with Commit Suicide, Structure Of Lies, Mumakill and Bathtub Shitter. The remaining tracks are taken from their first EPs, including 2001's "Overthrow" and the 2007's "Hang Em High" plus a number of different covers from Disrupt, Napalm Death, Minor Threat and Terrorizer. The last three cuts are live recordings of 'Alive?', 'My Untold Apocalypse' and 'Manufacturing Greed'. With this historical compilation the evolution Misery Index is hard to deny. The tracks of "Overthrow", for instance, clearly have Dying Fetus written all over it. The band's earlier material is comparable to Dying Fetus' early classics "Killing on Adrenaline" and "Destroy the Opposition". Post-2004 the line-up stabilized and the band's hardcore/punk leanings become more prominent. All these 30 tracks have been remastered by Scott Hull (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Pig Destroyer). As always the artwork was provided by former band member Mike Harrison. This compilation includes an extensive 24 page booklet of details, liner notes, pictures, and an all-time list of all the shows the band performed. Misery Index continue to deliver.
