After a demo and an EP Napels, Italy death metal combo Nalvage debut on Ukranian label Dead Center Productions with this EP. As the title suggest this American death metal, influenced by the likes of Dying Fetus, Suffocation and European bands such as Aborted (circa "Engineering the Dead") and (later) Behemoth. Nalvage have a few good ideas, but the messy songstructures don't fully explore these ideas. Brutal as this record is, it also misses a real stand out track to have listeners coming back to the record. It sounds as if Nalvage can't decide whether to be a straight up slam-death act or a more cultured and epic sounding outfit such as Behemoth. The latter tracks seem to explore the band's black metal leanings more thoroughly. Recorded at Nero Sound Studios in Naples the production isn't the best. The drums dominate all with overpowering snares drowning out the guitar and the bass guitar is felt, but never heard. The vocals remind of Sven de Caluwé in the earlier days of Aborted. The artwork of "Worship Dehumanization" is respectable and amongst the better ones in the underground lately. This is certainly a halfway promising EP, although Nalvage still have their work cut out for them if they want to stand shoulder to shoulder with the established institutions of the international extreme metal scene.
