Since then they have shedded all unnecessary elements in their music (female vocals, choirs, synths) and with "Divinity" deliver a respectable if not rudimentary full-on death metal debut. Noctem now sound somewhere between "Satanica" era Behemoth, "Awakening Of the Liar" era Hate and "Chaostream" era Lost Soul – without, however, ever reaching the same level of technical prowess, instrumental skill and songwriting grandeur. The vocals of Beleth are shouted semi-grunts and rasps that contain enough venom. In its more melodic moments Noctem remind a bit of pre-"Into the Lungs Of Hell" era God Dethroned. Compared to the demo Noctem have undergone a steep evolution and they could very well become to Spanish answer to Italian demigods Hour Of Penance. The album features guest appearances by Christos Antoniou (Septicflesh) and Luis Leal (Innerfate, ex-Forever Slave). The album features incredible artwork by Marcelo Vasco (Borknagar, Horncrowned, Lord Belial, The Ordher) which is offset by some amateurish design and lay-out work. Despite these flaws "Divinity" is a decent debut that will appeal to fans of the modern Polish death metal sound. With the successor to this album Noctem will prove whether this album was a fluke or a natural progression of their evolution out of the demo scene.
