    Nihil (ep)

Wydane przez Abyss RecordsRok wydania Kraj VenezuelaNapisał Wouter7Komentarze (0)Noctis Imperium - NihilDeath/black metal from Caracas, Venezuela featuring session studio drums by Nick Barker (ex-Cradle Of Filth, ex-Dimmu Borgir, Lock Up, Twilight Of the Gods). This EP is a precursor to their upcoming debut "Glorification of Evil: The Age of the Golden Dawn". Noctis Imperium sounds as a mix between Swedish act Mutant ("The Aeonic Majesty") and later day Behemoth ("Pandemonic Incantations" and onward). As per usual Barker's work behind the kit is nothing short of fantastic. Most of the material is culled from Noctis Imperium's earlier demo recordings. These new tracks show a great display of majestic arrangements and improved technical skill of all involved. The 'Ra-hoor-khuit' intro is only a minute long and adds nothing to the record. The cover of Morbid Angel track 'Maze Of Torment' is a nice choice and fits well with this band's direction. Noctis Imperium are on a crossroads of sorts now being able to explore either their death – or black metal leanings further in future material. The clean production makes the performances shine even more. The two last tracks are live cuts which only serve to pad out the running time. The EP was mastered at Mastersound Entertainment by Alexander Krull (Atrocity, Leaves' Eyes) in Germany. As a precursor to their upcoming full length "Nihil" is an ideal place to start from.
