A split album of two Israelian black metal bands. Undivine Essence open the album with two tracks. 'Crimson Sky' is midpaced doom-fused black metal with basic drumming and some surprisingly melodic guitar work. The prominent bass guitar makes this unusually heavy for underground and depressive black metal standards. 'New Shape' starts off a little faster, but soon relegates to the suffocating snail tempo. The biggest flaw of Undivine Essence is how simple everything is executed, only the bass guitar is more adventurous. 'New Shape' is definitely the strongest of these two tracks. Nature's Elements starts off their part of the split with a light ambient piece. 'IPOS' is a traditional exercise in primitive black metal. The production being somewhere between Mayhem's "Deathcrush" and "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas". Compared to a lot of other bands in this style the production features the bass guitar and drum kit prominently. The material is fairly typical for the genre and while true to form, it doesn't add anything a million others have done already. The artwork, design and lay-out aren't very special. Overall, this is split CD isn't very mandatory. The fact that both these bands are located in Israel is laudable, but their music doesn't yet warrant any attention outside of their home country.
