    Hate Induced Trance ()

Wydane przez Sinister Sounds Inc.Rok wydania Kraj ItalyNapisał Wouter6Komentarze (0)Ars Macabra - Hate Induced TranceAs a way of arousing label interest for their upcoming third album Italian black metallers Ars Macabra push their second album "Hate Induced Trance" to get their name out again; Ingar Amlien from Crest of Darkness provides session vocals on this record. While nothing earth-shattering "Hate Induced Trance" is a fairly typical Nordic black metal variety, think (early) Marduk, Dark Funeral and Setherial with a hint of (early) Satyricon's majestic darkness. The rasped vocals of Amlien remind of Paul "Themgoroth" Mäkitalo (ex-Dark Funeral, ex-Rev 16:8) but are more throatier and growled. All tracks are serviceably executed, the instrumental mastery is well above average, but Ars Macabra aren't on the same level as their inspirations as far as songwriting is concerned. Tracks as 'Compelling Perverted Taste', 'Et Nihil' or 'Infausta Spirale Manifesta' are razorwire whirlwind attacks that can compete with the best of them, yet miss that spark to truly set the band apart from their countless peers in this subgenre. The bass-heavy production is thick and reminiscent of Dark Funeral's 1996 debut "The Secrets Of the Black Arts". The black-white artwork and general lay-out are good, although not very exceptional in any way. By no means a bad record or band, Ars Macabra will appeal to die-hard Nordic black metal afficinados.
