There's more death metal in Spain than veterans Avulsed and Christ Denied. Case in point: Graveyard from Barcelona, Catalonia. "One With the Dead" starts out with a sample from the Sam Raimi horror classic "The Evil Dead". The vocals sound akin to Christofer Johnsson on Therion's "...Of Darkness". The drumming on the preceding EP sounding more US death metal oriented, while Jordi Gusi here sounds more like Unleashed skinsman Anders Schultz. Compared to "Into the Mausoleum" this new record has more of a classic Stockholm death metal sound. This is midpaced to slow European death metal with the occasional foray into faster territory. Much of the album is dark and evil sounding, a much welcome return to the genre's older traits, and a breath of fresh air in today's overproduced and sterile sounding death metal recordings. "One With the Dead" is a dark and morbid sounding record that combines the genre's patented doom and gloom with the atmosphere of an old '70-'80s horror flick. Recorded and mixed at the band's own Moontower Studios. Mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound Studio. This album once again comes with elaborate traditional handdrawn artwork by tattoo artist Roberto F. Giordano. The limited digipack edition of this record comes with an exclusive cover of Candlemass' hymn 'A Tale Of Creation'.
