Originally started out as Inoculation in 1995 beforing changing name and going for a pure black metal direction. Hailing from Bogotá, Colombia this act plays in the tradition of Marduk ("Panzer Division Marduk"), Dark Funeral ("Attera Totus Sanctus") and Enthroned ("The Apocalypse Manifesto" and "Carnage In Worlds Beyond"). One or two tracks have leads/solos. Like the records that inspired it "Casus Belli Antichristianus" sole intent is to desecrate and annihilate everything in its path. The relentless onslaught that these 9 tracks offer up is incredible and there's little in the way of dynamics and subtlety. Ittermittingly a few war-like soundscapes appear but otherwise Horncrowned immediately go for the jugular. 'Diabolical Indoctrination (Extermination Agility)' is probably the most diverse Horncrowned track on this record. This record doesn't slow down, only 'Defeated Christ (Hellish Forces Deployment)' offers a small break with a formidable drum and guitar interaction segment. The execution is tight with drummer Bombardier deserving a special mention. Vocalist Demongoat has a strangled rasp similar to Sabathan (ex-Enthroned) and Erik "Legion" Hagstedt (ex-Devian, ex-Marduk). The bass-heavy production is surprisingly good with a punchy and crispy guitar tone, the drum tone is hollow and kickdrums could use a little more power but this is a minor flaw. The artwork, design and lay-out are good and carry over the band's message exceptionally well.
