    Wounds Bleeding Black ()

Wydane przez Assault RecordsRok wydania Kraj RussiaNapisał Wouter6Komentarze (0)Klandestyn - Wounds Bleeding BlackBlack metal from Russia in the tradition of Mayhem ("Wolf's Lair Abyss") and Gorgoroth ("Under the Sign Of Hell"). The ambient soundscapes by Heristahk give this record an alien and otherworldly feel, similar to the first two records Of Belgian death metal combo Emptiness. Since there's only one guitar the riffing is limited and this restricts Klandestyn from exploring the finer aspects of their harrowing sound. The drumming isn't remarkable, but the lack of interesting cymbal – and kickdrum work is notable as the percussion could be far more diverse. Vocally, this is the typical shrill shrieking and rasping that we've come to expect of this particular genre. Despite all these defects Klandestyn are truly malevolent sounding and the sheer intensity of "Wounds Bleeding Black" is something a lot of the established acts have lost over the years. While far from mandatory "Wounds Bleeding Black" recalls the Nordic sound and attitude of the earlier records in this genre. The production is raw and that of a glorified demo recording, it is somewhat similar to Enthroned's "Regie Sathanas" but far more bass-heavier. The very basic black-and-white artwork, design and lay-out by Zmeelov is typical for a release of this kind.
