Black/thrash metal from Chile, sounding as "Return" era Bathory, "Morbid Visions" era Sepultura and "Witching Metal" era Sodom. Compared to the more American death metal sounding Thornafire this act manages to combine the individual strengths of Scandinavian, German and South American scenes and sensibilities. The breakneck speed, the primitive riffing, vomited vocals and militant thrashy drumming make "Demon Metal" are record living up to its name. The charm of this record lies not so much in its content, but how Perversor delivers these goods. The lyrics might be juvenile fantasies about Satan, revenge and war – but the honest delivery at least make them halfway believeable within the context of the record. There's no shortage of energy and Perversor waste no time with build-ups, intros, leads/solos or whatever clogs up the energy level. The rasped vocals give this a black metal aura. The production is good enough, although a little more bass guitar never hurts. The artwork is good and fitting for a retro sounding act like this. This will appeal to fans of more recent bands such as Anal Vomit, Bleeding Fist, Diocletian, Gospel Of the Horns and Revenge.
