    Assault Of Evil 666 (DVD)

Wydane przez Moribund RecordsRok wydania Kraj CanadaNapisał Wouter7Komentarze (0)Satan's Host - Assault Of Evil 666Culled from the epynomous tour and using the same production firm that Drawn and Quartered did, co-headliner Satan's Host do an admirable job on their first ever DVD. Shot by King Of Hearts (Himsa) in Seattle, Washington sees these Denver, Colorado heavy/black metal veterans delivering a hefty set with material mainly coming from then-new album "The Great American Scapegoat". Singer Eli Elixir sounds as a mix between Abbath (Immortal) and Legion (ex-Marduk, ex-Devian, Witchery). When announcing 'The Great American Scapegoat' Elixir waves the American flag briefly (upside down, no less) before wrapping himself in it and continuing the track like that. The DVD also comes with the band's three official videos ('Metal from Hell', 'Satanic Magistrerium' and 'Burning the Born Again'). Notable is that founding member Patrick Evil goes for a natural look, while his rotating cast of musicians come with the requisite corpsepaint. 'Metal from Hell' is the most professional looking of the trio, with the latter two being glorified live segments. The bonus material contains a ton material, ranging from a full gig to rehearsal footage, all which is interesting for a cursory glance. The artwork by Joe Petagno (Angelcorpse, Diabolic, Krisiun, Motörhead, Vital Remains) is fantastic, taking a bigger segment from the original 'The Great American Scapegoat' canvas. Not quite as intense and conceptually accomplished as Drawn and Quartered's DVD of the same tour, but a great historical document of a band that never compromised its vision in the face of tribulations, line-up changes and musical trends.
