Black metal from Italy that sounds distinctively like a sped up Darkthrone ("Transilvanian Hunger", "Under A Funeral Moon"), Mayhem and to a lesser degree Watain. Demonic wailing vocals with occasional clean baritone passages, the fairly interesting dynamics. The drumming is functional and not very special, the absence of any interesting fills, rolls and cymbal work do not help Tenebrae In Perpetuum from distinguishing itself from the countless faceless bands in this genre. The vocals are shared between two members of this act, but are hardly distinguishable from each other. The rare lead/solo (as in 'Incubo Rosso Cupo') lift the material up immensely. The bass-less production and thin reverb-drenched guitars make this a relatively consistent but uninteresting effort. Productionwise this is similar to Setherial minor classic "Lords Of the Nightrealm", although that one is bass-heavy. The artwork chaotic and the color red seems to be of importance. Overall, Tenebrae In Perpetuum is a solid but undistinguishable black metal act like there are so many. At this point they really do not stand out in any remarkable way. Solid but ultimately forgettable.
