Brutal Murder take the framework of (early) Internal Bleeding and (early) Cannibal Corpse and add little to no extra spice of their own to it. Going from the band's name and the songtitles little is left to the imagination here. "Promo 2010" comprises of three tracks of utterly primitive death metal that recalls the genre's earlier, more simpler days – but not entirely. Compared to the likes of Blasphemer, Dominance, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance, Murder Therapy and Necrotorture; this band is not nearly as technically proficient nor as advanced in its songwriting. The three tracks ('Zombie Masochist', 'Maggots Infected Flesh' and 'Disfigured Your Face') stomp, groove and grind well enough but nothing truly stands out or warrants any attention beyond its basic premise of bulging brutality. Where the earlier, simpler death metal acts had top notch songwriting muscle to put great ideas into a relatively simple assault Brutal Murder only succeed in being brutal and heavy. If they want to compete with the upper echelon of the countrymates or the international scene, they'll have their work cut out for them. The production is that of a glorified demo, somewhat muffled sounding while expanding upon the raw brutality displayed here. The artwork is shoddy, amateurish and ugly. At this point Brutal Murder is nothing more but a demo band looking for its voice. Ultimately redundant.
