With a name that translates from Latin in "to kill" Dutch death metallers Caedere carry on the tradition of countrymates Disavowed, Pyaemia and (early) Severe Torture. After their an independent release with 2002's "Gore to Banish Fear" and their 2003 debut "Mass Emission" on Goregiastic Records, a serviceable digital promo EP followed in 2007, which resulted in Caedere signing with their current label. Opener 'Tagged' is instantly recognizable; this is US death metal with an old school Swedish edge, the influences from Cannibal Corpse ("Bloodthirst" in particular), (early) Sinister and Suffocation are hard to miss. Closing track 'Bokito' starts off with a jazz/big band sample and quickly builds into an eerie semi-industrial interlude. The massive production by Scenic Studio and Deusex Infernis Studio is pristine and reminiscent of the Neil Kernon produced Cannibal Corpse album "Bloodthirst". The bass playing is formidable and fantastically audible in the production, something which deserves a mention. The drumming of Sjoerd Modderkolk keeps the middleground between Paul Mazurkiewicz (Cannibal Corpse) and Seth Van De Loo (Severe Torture, especially "Feasting On Blood" and "Misanthropic Carnage"). The artwork, design and lay-out by Hrödger Design (Devious) is superb and the best the band have had to date. "Clones Of Industry" is one of the better death metal records Holland has produced this year.
