With relative consistency Dutch death metallers Inhume have been spewing out records since 2000 over a number of different labels with fluxuating line-ups. After one record on Bones Brigade ("Decomposing From Inside") and two records on Osmose Productions ("In For the Kill" and "Chaos Dissection Order") "Moulding the Deformed", the band's first for German label War Anthem Records, continues in the band's patented style of grinding, chunky death metal. As close comparison would be Belgian butchers Aborted, circa "The Purity Of Perversion" and "Engineering the Dead" and the early works of Florida death metallers Cannibal Corpse, although Inhume are notably more primitive and nor nearly as dynamic. The line-up consists of current and former members of Bile, Cliteater, God Dethroned, Mangled and Sinister. Compared to earlier Inhume albums this one is more deliberately paced and the band refrains from blasting constantly. The chunky midtempo sections give this record its heaviness. Recordings were done at Soundlodge Studio, Germany with producer Jorg Üken (Despondency, Dew-Scented, God Dethroned, Resurrected) and this gives Inhume their best production so far with a thick guitar tone, meaty bass lines and massive sounding drums. The high quality digital artwork, design and lay-out rendered by Mike Hrubovcak (Abraxas, Divine Rapture, Monstrosity, Vile) make this one of Inhume's outstanding records to date.
