Experimental folkish death/black metal from Czech Republic. Sounds as a prime example of venomous Swedish death metal with an arsenal of exotic folk instruments, a wide array of vocal styles and the surreal circus atmosphere that bands as Arcturus and Le Grand Guignol pioneered. This sounds as pre-"Clayman" In Flames mixed with Finntroll and the avant-garde black metal spirit of "Aspera Hiems Symfonia" era Arcturus or the cloaked weirdos of Romania's Satanochio. The band's more introvert ambient interludes on the other hand recall Dead Can Dance. The general atmosphere of "Communitas" reminds of Ingmar Bergman's major classic of world cinema "Det sjunde inseglet". The lyrics deal with Oblomov's long-term study of cultural, social and biological anthropology. Vulture Industries' Bjornar Erevik Nilsen provides guest vocals on 'Ship Of Fools' and 'Mysterium Tremendum'. Recorded at Hellsound Studio by Honza Kapák (Nargaroth, Judas Iscariot, Inferno), who also doubles as session drummer for this album. With most death – and black metal hitting a major creative dryspell, Oblomov have released an album that will set a high standard for others to follow. "Communitas (Deconstructing the Order)" is probably the best the genre has to offer at this point.
