This combo from Bristol, UK only call to fame is that they are featuring Desecration vocalist/guitarist Ollie Jones in their line-up. Amputated blast relentlessly through 8 tracks of rather uniform and frankly uninteresting slam-death. Vocalist Morbid Mark already guested on Desecration's 2005 record "Process Of Decay" and his frog-croaking and utterly undecipherable gurgles are as uninteresting here as they were there. The blunt riffs are okay but hardly exemplary while the drumming is very basic, mostly supportive and by no means elevating Amputated above their American, East-European or Asian peers. Contrary to their peers Amputated however do have some dynamics although their songs remain largely hard to tell apart individually. "Wading Through Rancid Offal" hardly does the genre any service. Like their 2006 debut "Gargling With Infected Semen" this new record barely clocks 30 minutes and still the band manages to cram up their songs with useless intros. As to be expected, the horrific artwork was provided by industrious tattoo artist Jon Zig (Deeds Of Flesh, Disgorge, Suffocation) and is one of his better works. Amputated have better dynamics than the majority of their peers, but otherwise have all the faults of an underground slam-death act. This is a farcry from the classic UK death metal sound popularized by the likes of Benediction, Carcass and Napalm Death. Low on creativity, high on brutality - avoid it if you can.
