Denmark has always been a great exporter of quality death - and black metal, as veteran acts Iniquity, Illdisposed, Koldborn and Panzerchrist serve to prove. The new generation of Danish acts however can easily compete with its forebearers. After their "Hate Takes Its Form" debut in 2007 and the "Lacerated" EP in 2008 these Silkeborg natives now present their second album. Combining Devourment-like slam-death and Suffocation lite styled US death metal with Pantera-like grooves these Danes offer a solid slab of death metal - but altogether its nothing earth-shattering. The vocals of Scott Jensen sound as heavier metalcore vocals. Like most modern death metal acts the performances and technical chops are evident, but besides delivering a caustic stab at the genre, most songs tend to fade away once they've passed. Dawn Of Demise posses the brutality, but seem to miss the songcraft that made earlier Danish combos such as Iniquity and Illdisposed institutions in the genre. The production works is outstanding as is to be expected by a band on a name-label. The artwork, design and lay-out are a different matter altogether and not nearly as professionally rendered as their music or production. "A Force Unstoppable" doesn't quite live up to its name, as it turns out.
