From the ever fertile soils of Sweden comes Shadows Of Paragon, a furious Christian death/black metal act featuring former Inevitable End drummer Christoffer Johansson and Offerblod vocalist Karg. "Through the Valley Within" sounds as a mix between the swirling melodies and labyrinthine riffing of At the Gates circa "With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness" and the blasting intensity of "Opus Nocturne" era Marduk. Shadows Of Paragon play an older variety of Swedish death metal. One that is decidedly darker and more venomous than most of their contemporaries. If At the Gates had continued in the direction of "The Red In the Sky Is Ours" and the earlier mentioned "With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness" this is probably what they would have sounded like today. Recorded and mixed at Studio Fredman in Göteborg, Sweden under the professional guidance of the renowned Fredrik Nordström. Mastered by Peter In de Betou at Tailor Maid Productions. "Through the Valley Within" is a impressive slab of brooding death/black metal founded upon a more traditional framework. The only downside is that their religious affiliation shines through in their music, which with songtitles as 'Fear Of Being Forever Lost', 'Without a Veil Concealing My Sight' and 'Kyrie Eleison' shouldn't come much of a surprise, considering the band logo embeds a cross of Calvary.
