Canberra, Australia melodic death metallers Templestowe return two years after their formidable self-titled EP. Templestowe have become a better band all around compared to two years ago. The playing is top notch, the performances are spot on and the assault has become more venomous all around. Major influences are still (early) In Flames and (early) Dark Tranquillity and while Templestowe sound more brutal and aggressive then either of these two bands, their sense for frail melody has remained intact. As with the EP the classic metal leads/solos are done tastefully and add a great dimension to this already very engaging material. Recorded with engineer/mixer Scott Carter (Aeon of Horus) at Dark Corpse Studio in Canberra, Australia. The album also features additional engineering by Mark Lewis (Drawn and Quartered, Monstrosity, Order Of Ennead) at Audiohammer Studio in Florida, USA and a superb mastering job by Goran Finnberg (Opeth, In Flames, Soilwork) at The Mastering Room AB in Sweden. The lush artwork, design and lay-out by Templestowe's own Jon Hocking is stylistically similar to the work of Paul Romano and completes the package on a high note. Templestowe have all elements of a band ready for a major label record deal, hopefully they will be picked up on the basis of this highly effective full length. This is the way melodic death metal is supposed to sound.
