Six years after their debut "Misanthropic Salvation" Swedish death metal tornado Sanctification return for another lethal dose of massive and utterly uncompromising death metal. As on their debut the music is heavily inspired by Zyklon, Deicide, Hate Eternal, Lost Soul and the likes. Tony Laureano (Angelcorpse, Dimmu Borgir, Internecine, Nile) was supposed to play drums for "Black Reign", but couldn't due to touring commitments. The drums were instead handled by Nils Fjellström (Aeon, Dark Funeral, In Battle). The drum parts are massive and demanding, to say the least, and it can be easily heard to were specifically written with Laureano in mind. The riffing is militant and pretty similar to (early) Angelcorpse. The performances are impeccable and the advanced level of technicality makes it even more impressive considering the high speed this band plays at. The production is crunchy with a crisp guitar tone and very organic sounding drums. The CD was recorded and mixed by Peter Tägtgren at Abyss Studio and mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound Studio. Features guest vocals by Peter Tägtgren and Masse Broberg (Emperor Magus Caligula; Dark Funeral). Artwork by Pontius Lindroth is epic and dark. "Black Reign" is another lethal and stellar US death metal release coming from the fertile soils of Sweden. Hopefully Sanctification will be able to release another album as good as this one in less than 6 years from now.
