New York metallic hardcore/punks Seizure Crypt deliver a short burst of aggression with "Under the Gun". Despite the record's humorous nature the lyrical subjects are dead-serious dealing with drug addiction, religion, the effect of mass media and employment in modern times. The dual vocals alternate each other seamlessly, combining hardcore shouts with barked commands in style of Benümb and Agenda Of Swine. The album initially starts off with a narration but towards the second half of the record Seizure Crypt just go for the jugular. The playing is fast and loose, which adds to the feeling of authenticity but also makes them sound sloppy at times. Recorded at Cyclone Sound Studios in Brooklyn, New York with producer Don Fury (Agnostic Front, Funebrarum, Helmet) in less than a week's time this record comes with a meaty production that puts emphasis on the band's heaviness. The artwork, design and lay-out are all collages tied into the socio-political concept of the record. The cover artwork is however ugly and amateurish no matter from which angle it is viewed. People who like Suicidal Tendencies, GWAR, the Crumbsuckers and Cryptic Slaughter will enjoy this a lot. It is a fun way to kill 20 minutes, but Seizure Crypt are still a far way from the top of the food chain at this point.
