Vegan grinding death metal, featuring members from Purulent. All things considered this is a fairly typical Sevared Recs release, as far as design and production goes. As most underground US death metal goes Animals Killing People are insanely primitive, devoid of any melody or subtlety and heinous in their collective savagery. Killing is in fact what this album does, although it hardly a mandatory release in its genre. The vegan anti-human lyrics are charming and do differ compared to the likes of Cattle Decapitation who spearheaded this particular movement. 'Animals are Beasts Men are Monsters, 'Wrong Lunch – Raw Buffet Of Human Organs' or 'Homo Sapiens Lab Rats' leave little to the imagination and its great to see a different approach to the genre's patented splatter, gore – and horror lyrics. The album title is funny pitch on famous American fastfood chain Kentucky Fried Chicken. The cavernous guttural vocals - think (early) Disgorge, either the American or Mexican – and the messy songstructures are hardly commendable but singularly succeed in inflicting sanguinous carnage on the listener. The production gives this album a meaty guitar tone, deep thundering bass lines and a all too sterile drum sound. The gory artwork fits with the vegan lyrical content and is hardly able to be told apart from the countless standard gore covers of recent years. All this make "Kentucky Fried Killing" a release that compensates its lack of individuality with an abundance of brutality. It certainly isn't the most pretty thing, but its intent is clear: kill or be killed.
