With titles such as 'Hard Menstruation Cuntcore', 'Granny's Pusscunt' and 'Fontanel Fucking' it's clear that Scrotum is about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the temple. Featuring members from Judgement Day and Sinister this EP (which was released in September 2008) hasn't a great deal of interest for the discerning death metal fanatic. Like their 2003 "Woodenshoe Penetration" demo Scrotum deliver meaty, pounding death metal with plenty of double bass drumming and a great growling vocalist, reminiscent of Chris Barnes era Cannibal Corpse. The five tracks of this promo compensate their lack of identity with a healthy amount of brutality, but that alone is able to redeem this record from its utter mediocrity. Recorded at Toneshed Recording Studios in Horst, the Netherlands "Osculum Scrotum" comes with a fitting barbaric bass-heavy production that is somewhat similar to Nile's "Among the Catacombs Of Nephren-Ka". The artwork, design and lay-out are amateurish and ugly. Despite having a number of seasoned veterans in its line-up Scrotum isn't able to live up to the sum of its parts.
