Blood Stained Dusk
Black Faith Inquisition ()
Wydane przez Moribund RecordsRok wydania Kraj USANapisał Wouter6Blood Stained Dusk is a symphonic black metal act based in Huntsville, Alabama and is featuring vocals by current Gorgoroth vocalist Pest. The intro 'March to Death' could have been taken from the legendary Spanish cult horror Blind Dead movies by director Amando de Ossorio. The use of melodies is very similar to pre-"Reinkaos" era Dissection, while the overall dark and majestic atmosphere has ties to "In the Nightside Eclipse" era Emperor, including the light wailing keyboards and varied vocal approach. While clearly inspired by Emperor, Blood Stained Dusk are not nearly as as engaging and compelling nor as accomplished in their songwriting. While having a similar amount of brutality Blood Stained Dusk misses the progressive leanings that made Emperor a household name in the genre. 'Conquering the Avarice of Mortality' is in execution similar to Nile's 'Ramses Bringer Of War', starting off with a classic inspired piece before casting itself into rampant brutality. The artwork, design and lay-out are superb and can compete with the best in this genre. "Black Faith Inquisition" isn't quite the second coming of Emperor or Luciferion - or majestic and evil sounding symphonic black metal, in general - but its coming damn close. Blood Stained Dusk are onto something with this record, although it might take them just a few more years to fully reach and harvest their potential. One of the better symphonic black metal albums of the last couple of years.
