Crude and semi-melodic black metal power trio from Zaragoza, Spain that releases its debut through Oniric Records after a demo and an EP in 2003 and 2006. Musically, this is down the line of (early) Marduk and Enthroned. The rare clean sung sections make this album vocally more interesting. The delivery is fiery in a barbaric and savage way, the instrumentation is commendable but not exceptional. All tracks on this album sound similar and there are no signature tracks to speak of thus not lifting it up from mediocrity. Overall, this is primitive black metal of the expected blast-heavy Scandinavian variety with the occasional grim melody. The production is expectedly thin and barren sounding. The artwork, design and lay-out aren’t spectacular but adhere to all known genre conventions. Overall, this is very typical for the underground black metal genre and while Amnion is violent and evil sounding, “Cryptic Wanderings” remains very anonymous. Vinyl version of “Cryptic Wanderings” is released by Ishtadeva Vinyl Productions. First 100 copies come in a wooden box with screen-print in a black vinyl and special poster.
