    Until ()

Wydane przez Code 7/Plastic Head DistributionRok wydania Kraj UKNapisał Wouter7Komentarze (0)The debut of UK act Tripswitch couldn’t have come around a better time. “Until” is filled with cutting edge modern metal: plenty of staccato riffs, jumpy dance loops, industrial samples, etc with clean emotive vocals and harsh hardcore vocals and even the occasional stoner rock vibe. Like genre pioneers Fear Factory and Pitchshifter or more contemporary purveyors as Mnemic, Raunchy, Soilwork, Strapping Young Lad and Textures “Until” feels like a trip down memory lane, particularly the mid ‘90s. Before the genre collapsed in on itself and gave way to the nu-metal movement in the late ‘90s an early 2000’s modern metal used to be heavy, angry and socio-political in nature. Tripswitch is reclaiming these traits and deliver them in a package that is suited for the current generation. The delivery is spot-on with the album literally oozing with aggression, frustration and hostility. As most hardworking bands on the scene today Tripswitch know their around their instruments and this gives “Until” the much needed boost. Most of the material of this record is violent and aggressive sounding, yet interesting enough to keep the listener coming back for more. By no means are Tripswitch reinventing this genre, but their material warrants multiple listens to fully absorb. The production is fat and full. There's a good balance between clarity and heaviness. With all the tripe being passed off as modern metal these days it’s great having a band like Tripswitch showing the masses how this genre is done properly.
