Wydane przez Self-financedRok wydania Kraj AustraliaNapisał Wouter5Evil and dark death metal like Incantation, Morpheus Descends, Pessimist and "Tomb Of the Mutilated" era Cannibal Corpse. Like their legendary inspirations the material on this record is dense with demonic riffing, mammoth drumming and an overall gloomy atmosphere that was inherent to old school death metal. Some riffs, start-stop sections and chord progressions sound too close to comfort from the original Cannibal Corpse albums that inspired them. However, there are plenty of barbaric leads/solos to pull Monoliyth out of mediocrity. The gruff vocals of Big Jim (who double duties on drums) remind of Daniel Carchado (The Chasm, ex-Incantation) in their overall delivery. The music is tightly played, incredibly intense and entirely bereft of any original idea. This is this record biggest downfall, absolutely nothing stands out in any meaningful way. Artwork, design and lay-out are amateurish and ugly, featuring skeletal hands and the expected mushroom cloud in an apocalyptic vision of the end. The production is rough with a meaty guitar tone and pummelling drums. "Imminent Demise" is a death metal record that anyone will have heard before and that we will hear again in the future. Nothing about it is absolutely bad, but nothing about it is good either. In all honesty, the band has yet to carve out their own niche before they'd be able to branch out in the international scene. Australia has a good history and pedigree in extreme metal, but Monoliyth isn't yet on the same level of musical accomplishment and identity compared to bands like Alchemist, Abominator, Blood Duster or Gospel Of the Horns.
