    Northwind's Ire ()

Wydane przez Spikefarm RecordsRok wydania Kraj FinlandNapisał Wouter7Komentarze (0)Draugnim - Northwind's IreFounded in 1999 by Morior (and shortly after he was joined by Chimedra), who together recorded the "The Paynim Crusade" demo that same year. Only a couple of dozen copies of their first and second demo were handed out to relatives and friends. Thanks to line-up changes, the flooding of their rehearsal room and several other things, the band virtually didn't exist between 2004 and 2007. "Northwind's Ire" is the band's first batch of new material since 2007 and still Draugnim produces high quality heroic black/pagan metal. "Northwind's Ire" contains 4 new tracks while also re-taking 3 tracks of their 2007 demo "Sworn to Waves". The four new cuts show Draugnim writer songs of a broader scope with improved instrumentation, better implemented arrangements and a grander sense of focus. Vocally, there's primarily the black metal rasps of Mikko Häkkinen and a number of Viking choirs in the background, adding to the pagan authenticity of this record. Produced by Henri Sorvali (Moonsorrow, Finntroll) - who also did the production on the band's last demo, "Sworn to Waves" (2007) – this album comes with lush and crispy production that gives the songs space to breathe while providing them with enough heaviness. The artwork, design and lay-out are a bit typical for this genre but fit seamlessly with this band's music. Draugnim's epic and heroic pagan metal sound closely resembles bands such as Australia's Be'lakor, Vintersorg and (early) Borknagar.
